A Grave Diagnosis anthology

I’m thrilled to announce that my short story, “Medicine”, will be included in Carrick Publishing’s new crime anthology A Grave Diagnosis.

A Grave Diagnosis paperback and ebook

Coming fall 2020, the crime fiction stories will all feature an illness or disease. The medical theme was chosen long before word of the pandemic had spread but, as it turns out, the topic couldn’t be more timely. The stories will span the sub-genres of crime fiction, ranging from thrillers to cozies, from detectives and amateur sleuths to police procedurals.

I’ve reviewed many anthologies by Carrick Publishing, and it’s so exciting to be a part of one as an author this time. My story “Medicine” is about the leading actor of a medical drama television series, who has devoted the better part of her life to playing the role of surgeon Dr. Grace Steel. About to be replaced by an eager-to-please starlet, her character is being killed off by a mysterious illness. Suffering may sell, but its revenge that holds universal appeal…

Anthologies are a wonderful way to sample the work of some great writers and maybe even discover a new favourite. Toronto-based publisher Donna Carrick says she was overwhelmed by the quality of the submissions and that “without a doubt, it is the highest level to date for our Carrick anthologies”. You won’t want to miss it!
